We make it easy to start riding at Hegewisch Stables.
Fill out the form on this page and we will get back to you as soon as possible to get you booked for an assessment lesson.
Assessment lesson is required for all riders. This helps us understand your goals and current riding level so we can match you to the program that best fits your needs.
Based on your assessment and goals, we'll determine the right path — lessons, riding school, private lessons, or training — and get you scheduled appropriately.
Riders must bring their own riding gear. This includes a properly fitted helmet, closed-toe boots with a heel, pants, and gloves.
Everything first-time riders want to know.
Not at all. We welcome complete beginners through advanced competitors. Our instructors are experienced at teaching riders of all backgrounds.
Closed-toe boots with a heel (even a small one) are required for safety. Comfortable, fitted pants or riding breeches are recommended. Riders must bring their own properly fitted helmet.
We recommend at least twice per week for the fastest improvement. Once per week is a great starting point. Our instructors will guide you on the right frequency for your goals.
We work with riders from age 7 and up. We have programs tailored for children, teens, and adults at every skill level.
Absolutely. Your first lesson is just that — a first lesson. There's no commitment required. Many riders start with a single lesson and build their schedule from there.
We match riders to horses based on skill level and temperament. Our horses are well-trained, patient, and experienced with beginner riders. As you advance, you'll work with more challenging horses.
Unsure which program is the best choice? Use this form and we'll get back to you as soon as possible to help you determine the right fit for your needs.
